North Kingstown man critically injured by falling steel sheet

A North Kingstown man is in critical condition after a sheet of steel fell on his leg.

Police said the 59-year-old man was transporting a 1500-pound sheet of steel at ASC Engineered Solutions, when it fell on his leg.

Crews removed the steel and applied a tourniquet.

He was transported by med flight.

Police said he was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.
