Sask. exports to the world are at an “all

Apr 17, 2023Apr 17, 2023

The Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) and the Saskatchewan Government say exports to the world reached an all-time high.

Exports were $52.6-billion in 2022, a 42 percent increase from 2021, according to the State of Trade Report for Saskatchewan.

STEP and the province note export growth was driven by potash sales and oil exports grew by over 50 percent. They add "while potash and oil now account for 56 per cent of the province's exports, agri-food and manufactured goods also had record years."

Non-agriculture manufacturing and processing export growth was led by increases in semi-chemical wood pulp (50.8 per cent) and no-till direct seeders (87.7 per cent).
